Hoppers Return to CCHS in '25

The Hoppers will return to the Christian County High School Colonel Field facility for the 2025 season as part of the club's annual rotation between the Hopkinsville and Christian County baseball complexes.   The well-maintained facility includes a Field house for team use for indoor workouts and dressing rooms. The CCHS facility has a beautiful field setting sitting along North Drive on the CCHS campus. Ample parking is available outside the right field and center field area by the school, and, the CCHS Baseball Boosters will once again be manning the concession stand with their outstanding and affordable menu of food, specials and beverages for each game.   The field also features plenty of permanent chair seating. However, ardent Hoppers fans arrive early with personal chairs to take advantage of field-side seating behind the safety netting along both baselines.   The address for the CCHS Field is 220 Glass Ave., Hopkinsville KY 42240 (school address).  The field can also be located by turning onto North Drive from either direction.

OVL Undergoes Reorganization Again in 2025

After swelling to a record 12 teams for the 2023 season, league membership changed for the 2024 season.  During the 2023-24 off-season, franchises folded for various reasons in Bowling Green, Clarksville, Louisville, Muhlenberg Co., and Owensboro.  Two other clubs left for different leagues. Leaving 5 old OVL rivals -the Hoppers, Fulton Railroaders, Madisonville Minors, Paducah Chiefs, and Henderson Flash, battling it out in the historic Ohio Valley League. During the off season the OVL was able to bring back an old foe Full Count Rhythm to the OVL for the 2025 season!  The OVL is now back to 6 teams in the league and still working on getting more teams to join the 2026 season.  There may be fewer OVL teams, but the intensity and great play will still take place nightly.

The Hoptown Hoppers Board of Directors announced a new members over the off-season, as Adam West, Amy Henderson, Collier Jones and Jared Stevenson joined the 11-member volunteer group.  West is a local small business owner who also has 13 years of military service to his credit (6 years active and 7 reserves). Henderson works at Planters Bank and she is a mom to one human and 4 dogs, a Murray State graduate, a banker, a sports fan, an animal/nature lover and a Hoptown Hopper “Super Fan”! Jones lives in Hopkinsville with his wife Nikki, two daughters Resse, Rae Elliott, and their son Remington.   He runs Jones Brothers Towing & Trucking, a local wrecker service and trucking company serving Hopkinsville, and Clarksville TN.

As is the case with many Hoppers board members, the West and Stevenson families have also been a host family for our "summer sons" for the 10-week season.

The addition of West to the board took place when longtime Hoppers supporter and local historian, William Turner, was made a board member emeritus, pledging to remain as active as possible.

The Hoppers board roster is Charlie Henderson (President), Nate Craig (Vice-Pres), Travis Martin (Treasurer), Jamie Folz (Housing Co-Ord), Holly Hampton (Secretary), along with John Atkins, Amy Henderson, Collier Jones, Adam West and Lorie Wagoner.

Danny Roberts is in his third year as General Manager, with Asst. GM Randy Morris returning as well.
